An American Airlines flight attendant who told authorities she found a note saying there was a bomb in an airliner's cargo hold was charged over writing the threatening letter, which caused the plane to be diverted.

Gay Wilson, 37, of Arlington, Texas, was charged with unlawful interference with an airline, a federal charge that carries up to a 20-year prison sentence, said Doug Riggin of the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force.

Why didn't I think of this!

Tell people there's a bomb...... BUT THERE'S NO BOMB!!!!

OMG it's priceless!

Oy.

I suspect some other motive than merely "warped sense of humor".

Bomb Hoax To Avoid Boyfriend

DUESSELDORF, Germany, April 7, 2004

(AP) A woman charged with making bomb threats that shut down the Duesseldorf international airport for six hours last year pleaded guilty Wednesday, saying she phoned the threats to avoid going on vacation with her boyfriend.

Marina Busbosnjac, 29, testified in a Duesseldorf court that she was trying to keep the relationship a secret from her family.

"I couldn't say to my boyfriend that we couldn't travel" and hoped instead to get the flight canceled, Busbosnjac testified.

Maybe she wanted to keep the relationship a secret, but it was much more important to alert her family to her insanity. So this is how she got it done.
