FEMA Chief resigns

Shortly after Brown was recalled to Washington last week, officials close to the FEMA director said he would likely resign. They said that even before Katrina, Brown had been planning on leaving the administration late this fall to go into the private sector.
Oops, he really blew it. If only he'd have quit few weeks earlier, he'd have had a fighting chance for lucrative private sector payout.

Yeah, but this way he gets to collect unemployment.

I dunno. Picture his resume, even with his embelishments.

Tell me your first reaction wouldn't be: "Head of FEMA? Yeah, I remember you from when I was King of France."

Maybe he can get on the next episode of the surreal life or something...

Blew it? LOL. He'll be making a seven figure a year take-home as a lobbyist -- DHS/FEMA procurement & contracts.

Sadly, you've probably hit the nail right on the head.

People like him don't pay for their screw ups. Everyone else does.

I don't know. Brown strikes me as the insecure type who might put a gun in his mouth over this kind of major failure.

At least now we got the guy who recomended that everyone go out and buy duct tape and plastic sheeting to protect against a terrorist attack. Maybe he could have recomended that the citizens of New Orleans get buckets had he been in place earlier.
