I’ve been listening to both the TV and Radio personalities. It seems most are trying to fan the flames and infuriate everyone. Responsibility seems to have been thrown out the door. Some are calling for the judicial system to be thrown out. The more I listen, the more upset the callers are, and the more these guys seem to try to make the callers angrier. A lot are also blatantly lying just to make things worse. I even heard one interviewing one of the doctors that had examined her an idiot and a liar because he didn’t provide the answer the radio personality wanted (so much for facts).

I got to thinking (I’ll pause while you laugh) that isn’t this much worse than anything a shock jock has said/done over the public airwaves? Shouldn’t the FCC step in and crack down on these guys like they did the shock jocks?

Also, do you guys think there will be a defamation suit filed for some of the things the TV and Radio personalities have said when it’s over?

I don't think the FCC has jurisdiction over slander but Scarborough and Fox ought to have the pants sued off of them. Unfortunately they are probably protected by the fact they are news programs.

Now that they are supporting the Schindlers in a losing battle they started an all out war tonight making the most absurd claims Michael Schiavo wants his wife to die because if she had rehabilitation she might wake up and tell everyone Michael really caused her heart attack by some sort of abuse. [ I can't make the smilie's eyes roll wide enough to express the incredulity.]

Does anyone really believe that after 15 years with an atrophied cortex and a flat EEG that Michael Schiavo would be worried the woman might 'get some speech therapy' and tell everyone he abused her into having a heart attack that was already established as having been from hypokalemia secondary to self induced vomiting? Scarborough who is constantly going on about God on his program is actually making such a claim on his show. That is as hypocritical as they come.

Don't get too upset, Daylight. Remember, this is all about ratings. You have to pander to a particular audience and hold your ground. Sean Hannity is infamous for this. He often has guests on H&C that he never allows to get a word in edgewise. He force feeds his doctrine down the guest's throat before the guest has a chance to draw air. He plans it that way because that is exactly what his fans want him to do!

Believe me, after Terri Schiavo dies, so will all the media attention to her . The important thing is for us not to let the memory of our experience with her situation die off as well. Especially come 2008.
