I have been here a short time, and I was wondering if anyone had a favorite CT? This doesn't mean that I believe in them, it is just an issue that I actually like reading about a few.

My favorite is the New Chronology theory. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Chronology_(Fomenko)) I remember just freaking out when hearing about it, but it is awsome if you want to make a fantasy world and base it off Fomenko's work.

So what are other people's favorite CT's?

I have been trying not to respond to every post, but yes. I mention Fomenko a lot when talking to those people, because he uses the same techniques. I mean I don't believe in any religion, but I know that there wasn't a smokey room were they just made this stuff up. My fiance is a history major and we talk about this too, how religions just evolve out of the human experience. Despite how much people have tried you can't show the Jews copying the Egyptians, and they derived from Mesopotamia, so it isn't copying there; but merely a cultural link that just proves the historical observation.

I was being sarcastic.

Not in the sense that I actually think people purposely made them up to control people, but simply that they're the inventions of human beings even if they believe it.

The jokes still there. People don't make them up as much as use them to explain what they can't understand.

Sorry to rob the best part. It is still funny though. I've jut been in a Zeitgeist arguing mindset too long. Sorry

No problem. Zeitgeist can definitely rob a person of their sense of humor. :)

That film was so bad, even atheists were outraged at the falsehoods leveled at Christianity.

Yeah that is a great one. My Zeitgeist satire would be Falss Chronology followed by the Moon Landing Hoax and then finished off with the Reptilian Invasion Conspiracy Theory. Just because I figured it would cover all the bases, and yet not be offensive as including 9-11 or the Holocaust.
 
Moon landing theorys are funny. some claim they never was on the moon, others claim they have bases on the moon since 40 years and they do mining on the moon ^^
