All the talk the last two weeks about that silly system for fixing up bad vision makes me think of a videogame that was just released this month -- the Highly Anticipated new Sam and Max game from Telltale games.

It's an episodic game, with only the first episode released so far. The first episode's plot revolves around a bunch of child TV stars who are out promoting a new video -- "Brady Culture's EYE-BO." It's supposed to be an "ocular fitness program" but in fact is something far more sinister.

Anyhow, I just couldn't let it go without mentioning it. Seems relevant and timely.

Here is the link to the game's official site:

Here's a YouTube video which begins with the main character reading the Eye-Bo video jacket.

Wow, this reminds me that I was actually beta testing a product for Vision Improvement Technologies at the last company I worked for. Living in Fairfield, I was close to a lot of...less than credible ideas, but actually the computer program that we were asked to test seemed somewhat realistic.

It had us remove our glasses and try to focus on the outlines of letters and whatnot with the explaination that the eye muscles just need exercise. After a couple days I stopped doing the "exercises", but not because I thought it was "woo". Instead it just seemed like an annoying daily interruption. As no one ever asked what we thought of the product or how well it worked, I had almost forgotten it until reading your comment.

Oh well, I guess the learning continues...
