Explosions before south tower collapse?

Why are the people in this video running before the south tower even starts to collapse?

This BBC reporter says "we had that big explosion, from much much lower.." when he is describing the south tower collapse.

Because they want to get away from the biggest fire in the history of NYC? In hindsight they did the right thing. Run away from the building. Did firemen tell them to get away because they know uncontrolled fires can cause buildings to fall.

Neat video on the second one. NO RDX sounds! Just falling building noises.

No RDX sounds from the first video. Proof again no CD on 9/11.

Sad day. I hope you are not a CTer, cause you still have no sounds of RDX.

Well there's numerous answers to all of these questions...

To address the second one first, he's quite clearly talking about the collapse itself when he talks about the "big explosion much much lower".

As for the first one, there's a number of options.

1) It looks like it might be shortly after UA175 hit

2) NYPD were throughout the day trying to keep people back, and NYPD were the first ones to report the buildings were going to collapse

(Incidentally the first image I ever saw of 9/11 was an NYPD officer at a big intersection shouting at people to get back)

3) In large crowds rumours can start from speculation and lead to riots. The recent tragedy in Baghdad where hundreds were killed on a bridge is a prime example - rumours of suicide bombers led to a stampede that killed hundreds, yet there were no suicide bombers.

The facts remain irrefutable:

1) There are no genuine pieces of video footage capturing explosions at the towers from demolition charges
2) The collapse mechanism for the towers was clearly visible and recorded a substantial time before the collapse happened
3) Seismic data indicates there were no explosives prior to collapse

The same reason that the people standing almost at the base of the towers are NOT running prior to collapse in LC2.

Go to the 10:40 mark of LC2.....no explosions and the Firefighters are not reacting to any pre-collapse explosion and the no reporting from the news crew about explosions.......not even the ones that Rick Siegel picked up from 2 miles away

He does say explosion then looks up.....not realizing the sound he hears is the collapse.......

From my background with EOD I would think that anything happening below the impact point prior to collapse would have been at the minimum heard in this news footage.

I mentioned this serveral times in the LC forums.....to the point where I think it's how I was allowed to get to 200+ posts prior to ban.....I think I may have been helping with the editing :boxedin:

I doubt it will be the last "dumbest question in the history of the world" to come out of the cult of the 9/11 movement though! :D

Just when I concluded that you were a complete loon, you go and ask a sensible question. Why indeed were they running from a burning building that had been struck by commercial airliner? I'd be standing still with my face turned skyward and my mouth open, hoping to catch a few tons of falling debris or, at minimum, a big chunk of hot steel.

:boggled:
(Cue scary music) Oooh! I'll bet someone heard something blowing up in the fire. Can you imagine?

Oh, there are dumber ones....

This may be the dumbest question in the history of the civilised world

My favorites include:

"You don't feel pregnant....do you, babe?"

"Officer, can I park here?"

"If we do this, will you still love me in the morning?"

"Are you really getting divorced from your wife?"

:)

Dumbest question I've ever been asked:

Woman on bus (studying my left hand): Is that a wedding ring?

Me: Yeah.

Woman: Are you married?
