Often at boot the computer is standing still on the boot screen and nothing happens for a few minutes. When I check the log file it lists 19 entries on startup with this error. In the micsosoft database this info is presented but it doesnt mention what might cause it or how serious it is. Its a S-ATA drive if that matters. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/244780/en-us

I got the disk utility from Samsung and ran the test but it discovered nothing wrong with the disk, what could it be?
(I already have backed-up the user-data to a separate disk)

Personally I've not had this problem, but a quick Google turned up a possible problem with Native Command Queuing (NCQ) a command protocol for SATA drives. It seems NCQ and Nvidia/nForce drivers don't co-exist very well. One solution that worked involved turning off NCQ.

Go into the device manager and select properties for the nvidia sata controllers. Disable NCQ, i.e., command queuing for the sata channels!

Give that a shot and see if it works (no guarantees mind you). :D

Edit to add these more detailed instructions:

"...go to device manager and go under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers. There may be a few listed and you'll have to see which has your hard disks attached to it.

Right click on the correct entry and select properties. Then go into the Primary and Secondary channel tabs and deselect "Enable command queuing"."
