Evelyn Paglini was on Coast to Coast AM last night. Here's the recap from the website:

Parapsychologist and witchcraft practitioner Dr. Evelyn Paglini returned to the show, and as she did in her Nov. 2004 appearance, issued a dark forecast for the near future. There will be many natural disturbances as Mother Nature has been called upon to do a cleansing of the Earth, she explained. Among her predictions for the US in the year ahead:

  • Clusters of tornados, ranked F4 or F5, with winds in excess of 250 mph.
  • 5 major hurricanes will hit land, with necessary evacuations. FL, TX, LA and AL should all be prepared.
  • Major flooding in CA, with levees and dams breaking. Several disaster areas will be declared.
  • A bitterly cold winter with record snowfall.
  • Major fires in CA, AZ and even parts of the Midwest.
  • Two major quakes over 6 on the Richter scale, one in CA, the other in the Midwest.
Paglini also said the economy would be derailed, with severe layoffs, escalating oil prices, and a stock market "correction" in the fall. She also sees a rise of civil unrest, where some cities will be nearly under martial law, and a killer viral strain that hits during the winter of 2006-7.

She spoke about spells & curses, mirror magic, and mass consciousness experiments, such as ones done by practitioners, in the 1940's in England, to help defeat the Germans in WWII. Paglini also shared a visualization that helps people get in touch with their spirit guides. It involved closing your eyes, and picturing yourself in a large room with a cylindrical elevator, upon which the guides would arrive.

Ok...FL,TX,LA,AL : Thats "Tornado/Hurricane Alley", right? (All ye Yanks, help me out here) Then it's not as much a prediction as very distinct possibility based on the previous weather patterns of the century.

Clusters of Tornados: Again: Tornadoes tends to "Cluster" due to weather patterns based on time of year. Nothing new there. It is also not news that they hit land even if the strength with which they hit land varies.

Major fires: Again: It's been seen before in those areas ad naseum. Just take a look at the last couple of years. Doesn't support anything but an ability to memorise weather/fire patterns.

Major Earthquakes: CA isn't really a surprise. The midwest? Thats really , really vague when you take a look at her accuracy in the other areas. I suggest taking a look at the seismic activity in the mid west area. There's probably a faultline somewhere. That's probably where she will later say "I told you so!". I would also take a look at the frequency of the large quakes in that area. LA, eg., is, if I remember correctly, overdue for another biggie.

Major flooding: After Katrina? You gotta be kidding. There's a distinct chance that authoraties are going down like hawkes on leeves and dams. That means that once it DOESN'T happen, a particular lady is going to say:"See, they listned to me and saved millions of lives! They just don't want to admit they listened to me!".

As for the speed of the tornadoes, which would be more properly labled "Hurricanes", then scientist have already stated that we should expect more powerfull storms in the century to come due to the greenhouse effect. (TV-interview on danish television with no online reference, sorry).
And the cluster of hurricanes which hammered NO were in that class so there's nothing new there either.

Quiet frankly, I miffed about witchcraft being mentioned in connection with this fraud.

Do you by anychance have a copy of her earlier
predictions so I can check her accuracy?

Good afternoon Hardenbergh.

Wow! It is so rare to see vivid and specific predictions, and Evelyn has done nothing to change this.

Oh yeah, those are some spiffy predictions, YAWN.

Took a lot of brain power to come up with them.

And people are somehow impressed enough with this loony to give her time on the air? Or is it that they just have lots of time to fill and are amused by her.

And I am predicting she will tout her amazing accuracy in the near future.

Did she happen to say where the bitterly cold winter and record snowfall will be? Will they both be in the same area or can they be in different parts of the country. Now if just one town anywhere records a record snowfall it's a hit, right.

The lady has gone right out to the end of the limb this time.

Wait, is there really such a thing as being, "due" for an earthquake? I wasn't under the impression that there's "due-ness." (Also, I don't care if that's not a word.)

Being as the first earthquake I felt (I actually slept through my first one) was while I was on the thirtieth floor, I'm constantly checking the USGS map here: http://quake.wr.usgs.gov/recenteqs/latest.htm

I see a lot of stuff, but that's pretty normal for here no?

Yeah, I think your right. Three years ago I went to California for the first time to visit my daughter. I kidded with her about earthquakes while I was there. It wasn't until a week after I returned to the stable ground of Maine that I felt my first earthquake. Now if Ms Paglini can predict the next 4.0 earthquake or better in this area...

I didn't think so.
