So, is marijuana now "legal", in those states that have passed medical marijuana laws?

ETA: I am looking for the video of his announcement, now. He said they'd no longer waste limited resources on places that are using marijuana under the law.

Over a dozen states have passed medical marijuana laws.

Although, it would appear that the law never intended people to be making money from the dispensaries.

Imagine how cheap you could get Viagra for, if the company manufacturing and selling it, was 'denied' profitability by government officials!?

Still though, the feds taking a hands off approach to states that have enacted medical marijuana laws, IS a good thing, and a step in the right direction.

HB 164 in the Texas Legislature, a bill was offered up that provided a criminal defense to marijuana possession, if you have a prescription from a doctor...but it died in committee without discussion.

Not having heard it, I am guessing that he didn't feel the AG went far enough...?

That said, I too found the AG's comments still very hostile toward marijuana, and while I found the news "good", I am only partially hopeful that big changes will be made anytime soon. There are some states that still find gambling to be unacceptable and thus illegal.

It's good that the Feds are bacxking off a little, but the policy within the state of California is schizophrenic.

The dispensaries can't make a profit, but the growers can? Who's regulating the growers? Are they still getting raided?

Just legalize it, end the charade. Stop ruining lives over a flower.

Is there a difference between a flower and a bud?

I spoke to my Texas State Senator's offices yesterday about cost savings matters in regards to THC in Texas. My Texas Medicaid Programs pays $30,000 a year for my prescription Marinol. I could grow my own for the price of a bucket to catch rainwater... That the matter didn't even make it out of committee, says a lot about the atmosphere here in Texas.

Gambling is illegal here, yet there are places you can play for 'tokens', which you sell back to the establishment.

It depends on what you eat before and after ingesting it...

Which is one of the problems using an oral induction method.

If I take them with milk, lots of cheese, or anything with lots of animal fats, the effect is almost non-existent. Consume in conjunction with a light salad or a plate of red sauce spaghetti, and you'd better hold on to your hat.

I hope the inhaler gets to the market soon. It is now in its second stage of trials, which means months before it is close to FDA approval.
 
Cool - I was also curious from a recreational standpoint - could you up the dose to get a good buzz?

Was thinking these might be handy to take ahead of concerts where smoking could get you removed.

Also: given this is synthetic THC in pill form, could you conceivably crush a pill and rail it?

It's a gel cap, intended for ingestion through the small intestines...it usually takes a good half an hour to take affect.

I took 10 once, and got lost in my bathroom. I literally had no idea where 'in the world' I was. Nothing looked familiar. Once I got back into the hall I started to recognize things again. There's a heaviness to the feeling, not heady at all, but like how you feel when you've eaten too many brownies.

I've never seen or heard of anyone injecting it, and I'm not a needle guy. I prefer to smoke, but vaporizing it leads to headaches, so I take them on an empty stomach or after a light meal.

I am a spinal cord injury patient who takes THC to reduce bladder spasms. THC helped me to stop cathing, and almost completely eliminated bladder accidents. (Is that too much information?)

As best I could understand the complaint, it was that by reserving the option to arbitrarily not prosecute marijuana offenders if they so desired, they were also reserving the option to arbitrarily prosecute if they so desired.

I think that incoherent legal stance is a sign of changing law. (Who'd have thought it would take so long, though?)
