While I assume they're just part of the "gotcha liberal Media conspiracy",
the LA Times, Washington Post, SF Chronicle, some Spanish Paper, NYC
and the Chicago Tribune endorsed Obama for President, which is somewhat
nice - now that he's winning anyway:

Endorsements of CT, LA-T:

And then there is conservative Radio-Host endorsement:

Feel free to add the other Endorsements and what all of that means...

Why didn't they do that before - out of bias?

Their answer:

Chicago Tribune endorses first Democrat

On the candidacy of Republican John McCain, the newspaper said it liked him but found him “hard to figure” on tax policy in light of the federal budget deficit, and termed his proposal to buy up bad mortgages “misguided.”

But it said McCain’s worst decision was to choose Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate, calling her unprepared to assume the presidency.

That is important. As for the other papers mentioned, they always endorse Democrats so it's no big deal.

Huh? What about that conservative Radio Host from the OP.
Is Michael Smerconish some famous guy?

He's another Philly pundit on CNN usually. He used to fill in for Glenn Beck if that tells you anything.

Thank you, Policenaut - Glenn Beck is quite familiar to me, but I didn't
recognize Smerconish's name until I saw the note about the Rep. endorsement.

I noticed quite a while ago that he was rather positive towards Obama when I saw him on tv and usually didn't have much to say about McCain or was critical of him. Also he's been on MSNBC a lot recently on Hardball and Race for the White House. He seems to be a lot more liberal than even 6 months ago.

Now that's what I would call "Change" and "Yes, we can". :D;)

Surprising Boosts for Obama from Denver and Salt Lake Papers -- Also Endorsed by 'AJC," 'KC Star' and 'Sun-Times' SOURCE

Also... :D

Palin is, additionally, costing McCain newspaper endorsements.
Editor and Publisher calculated that as of Oct 18, Barack Obama led McCain 58-16 in the competition for the backing of newspapers. Many of the endorsements cited Palin as a factor in their rejection of McCain. SOURCE

OK Another to add cos I didnt see this thread and started another for it.
The conservative Salt Lake Tribune editorial board has given its endorsement to Barack Obama in what they titled "A Simple Choice". The board endorsed Bush the last 2 elections. The owner, William Dean Singleton has, on a previous occaision, referred to Obama as Osama Bin Laden.

New York Times endorses Obama for president

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The New York Times endorsed Democrat Barack Obama for U.S. president on Thursday, saying he had "met challenge after challenge, growing as a leader and putting real flesh on his early promises of hope and change."
