I just read that false-memory-syndrome skeptic Elizabeth Loftus has been accepted into the National Academy of Sciences, which is an extremely prestigious honor. Here's an interesting article about here (posted on her website), and here is the NAS website.
I saw Maria Zuber was also inducted. She is deputy principal investigator of the Mars Orbiter Laser Altimeter. Years ago, I attended a talk by her, and asked about using the MOLA to show the Face on Mars was just a hill, and she was adamant about not even discussing the issue. She is clearly a skeptic, but of the group who thinks we shouldn't even acknowledge the pseudoscientists. Oh well.
