A big middle east story which has not been covered here:

Egypt accuse Hizbolla of operating cells in the Sinai peninsula. One of the goals of the cells was to facilitate the smuggling of weapons to Gaza. But this is not the big story. Egyptian sources claim that the cells were planning terror attacks in Egypt. Egyptian media used unprecedented language to describe Hizbolla's leaders in the last few days.

This may have some long range implications. Some analysis from Haaretz can be found here.
It is sometimes hard to believe the remarks coming out of Cairo over the past 48 hours are actually directed at Hezbollah. The Egyptian press has tagged its leader, Hassan Nasrallah, with denigrating epithets like the "monkey sheikh," and remarks from security officials in Cairo to the Israeli press sound reminiscent of how generals speak in times of war.

Those same officials air blunt warnings that Egypt will "vigorously hit back" those who endanger its national security, "whether Iran or Hezbollah." Cairo has made clear that from its perspective, Hezbollah had crossed each and every line in the sand.

I can not read mind, but I can several possible answers:

They may want to destabilize the regime, to replace it with one with different policies. For instance, one which will cancel its peace treaty with Israel.

They may want to punish Egypt for its stand against Hamas during the last conflict in Gaza.

The may want to hurt Israelis, and decided that it will be easier to attack them at the Sinai peninsula. Many Israelis go to the beaches there.

Are they absolutely certain it's Hizbollah? If not I'm wondering if it's a false-flag move from Israel...

Hizbollah has admited to having operations ongoing in Egypt. They claim they're only smuggling goods and equipment (read: weapons) across the border.

Egypt doesn't believe them. I don't blame them.

Also, try not to see conspiracies in everything. If everything is a false-flag, then eventually nothing is.

There is some evidence that Hizbollah is doing things in egypt, but you prefer to believe in something to which there is no evidence for whatsoever?

Good, we see where you stand.

The Mossad would love to be One Fifth as good as covert ops and the Conspiracy theorist would have it.

Isreal doesn't really want an egypt Hizbollah fight. To great a risk Mubarak might lose.
