Yesterday I happened to glance in the general direction of my Skepchick calendar and I noticed this remarkable sight:

I defy any of you heathens to explain how this halo is anything other than a direct message from an intelligent designer, warning us all to repent for those sinful days and nights we just spent at TAM5.

It's a mirror

Same thing happened to me about an hour ago. I came into my room after a shower. The light from the hallway reflected on a small hand mirror I have on my desk, over a picture of my mother (who died when I was young). At first I was taken back, but after about 10 seconds I had to laugh when I realised what was going on.
 
Now that's a pose that's common in the kitchen. I hope she washed her feet before crushing the stock cube between her toes.

As for the mark, it's simply ware the bloke slipped with the hammer while putting the nail in. Perhaps his attention wasn't fully on the task at hand?

Since repeatablity is the corner-stone of the scientific method, next week please post February's calender image so that we can track the occurance of this phenomenon.

Only in the interests of science, of course!;)
 
In order to more accurately determine what happened, it is important that we know exactly which skepchick that picture is displaying.
 
I'm sure it's clearer in the actual image but it looks like her foot is on top of the burner. ouch.

It would seem to me just the opposite. Obviously she's blessed and considered holy, which puts the stamp of approval on the entire skeptic movement.

And no, it wasn't a hammer mark, either (damn, how big of a hammer would that have to be?).

Since both of these guesses are wrong, it clearly proves my original proposition that you are all heathens who need to repent. There can be no other explanation.
