Perfectly Poisonous Person
For the past few days I have been digitizing VHS tapes to copy to DVD. Mostly home video... but I was being annoyed with one piece of software I have (Pinnacle 9.4), and was looking at newer versions of video editing stuff (WinDVD, Roxio, Ulead... and even Pinnacle) when I noticed that newer versions have capability to take stuff off of TIVO, plus HD DVD capabilities.
Recently we signed up for Dish Network satellite service at HD Bronze level with one DVR, a VIP622 DVR.
My stupid question is: Other than buying the Pocket Dish from the Dish Network, can I save recorded programming onto my computer and write it to a DVD?
By the way, I have one of these in my basement: http://www.satelliteguys.us/showthread.php?t=7178 ... I'm about to sell it on Ebay, but I am tempted to hook it to my computer with its (unused) USB port to see if I can get over-the-air HD programming on it.
