He dared to call Bush on the WMD fraud. So, now it's time to get him out. They have even bugged his phone to try to get dirt on him.

Before the invasion, he stated that the aluminium cylinders were probably not a part of a nuclear program. He said there was a need for more investigation. He was right. Now, he has to go, because the people who got it wrong don't want someone in there who gets it right. They want someone in there who says what they want people to hear.

Well, to be contrary,he has been in two terms and that seems to be the usual turn-over point for a new director.

That said, it will be interesting to see if the US can get sufficient votes to turn him out. My guess is that a lot of nations, including some of the "coaltion of the willing" may see this as a (politically) low-cost method of giving the US a little bump, a way of saying "don't take us for granted"

He has made more correct calls than the Bush administration. Eg, the aluminium tubes. That was his mistake.

There is no 'limit' to the number of terms you have served, as long as you are doing a competent job.

And the Bush admin is not just trying to get him out of the job, they are using illegal and immoral tactics to do so, eg, bugging his phone to see if there is anything they can use to blackmail him.
