I did today, and parts of the print have already started to crumble off and fade!
And it's not like I washed it at an insanely high temperature or with too much or too agressive a laundry detergent.

Maybe I just got a defective shirt :(

Better shirts next year. And in a slightly lighter colour so you could actually get people to sign it with a black sharpie?

oh how sad. Because I have a TAM1 shirt, in fact I have several (they went on clearance sale) and I have washed them over and over. Hey I like to sleep with MrRandi...

Those shirts look great.

Yeah, My TAM2 and TAM3 shirt have been washed plenty of times already. No problem at all. It's just this one ...

Sorry Exarch, but some of us prefer to wear ALL black (for me, the winter months). There's already a plethora of previous white Meeting T-shirts.

(using Plethora in a sentence - 10 pts for bignickel today)

All of my black clothes are washed in cold water without much detergent. And I line dry most clothes because my laundry room is quite warm and I'm very cheap.
My TAM4 shirt still looks new with this treatment.
Don't mean to gloat... I'm just delighted with my shirt and my first TAM!

Confirmed Exarch,
The TAM4 shirts are going to quickly have that rough-hewn, well-worn look. Less than a month out from the meeting! Kind of a bummer, considering how well previous TAM shirts have held up. (Although my TAM3 shirt lost a seam thread, come to think of it.)

I guess we could get philosophical and remind ourselves that the spirit of TAM lies not in the shirt, but in how we carry out the work of skepticism in our daily lives: confronting the woos, enlightening the unenlightened, making the world safe for scientific progress and the like.

Still though, it *would* be nice to have a tee that lasts more than a week.

You wear different colors depending on the time of year? Geez, that sounds like some kind of fashion thing.

Well, I didn't say it had to be a white shirt. Another colour could be nice, and still have black sharpie be visible on it.
Of course, then we'd be wandering into the wacky world of colours, and El Greco would have a field day ...

I washed my TAM4 shirt in cold water. It came out just fine. Exarch, if you email Linda, maybe you could get another shirt if there were any left over...

Yep, it's true. There are extra shirts. In fact, I'm going to put them up for sale for $10 ($15 international) early next week.

Exarch, sounds like you're entitled to a new one. Let Linda know.

Yeah, I'm used to be able to wash coloured and black clothes at 40°C (~105°F) nowadays. Never had a problem with that. I blame Proctor & Gamble with their new Black Velvet fad.
Although I did turn the shirt inside out like I do with most printed shirts.

Anyway, a new shirt won't be necessary, I figure it's probably my own fault for not following the instructions on the wash-label
I'll be more carefull next time I wash it.

Mine went through once and is mostly ok. I wash on warm though, with a full cup of detergent...

As a single male and frequenter of many a popular music concert, I always wash my tees in cold. So it was with the TAM4 tee. And I tumble dry at low heat. As a result I have an extensive collection of concert tees stretching back to the '80s.

But one wash/dry was enough to make my TAM4 shirt look at least a year old (more like a few years old).

I'm still wearing mine... Funny - people are turning grey and running away from me screaming... Looks like my skepticism REALLY shows!

I didn't get a shirt at all :(

You people don't know how lucky you are, having cool shirts to ruin in the wash :cry1

You were supposed to pick those up at the table next to the registration booth on Thursday (you know, give them your size so you wouldn't be walking around with a shirt that's too big or, El Greco forbid, too tight).
Unless of course you arrived at TAM a bit later ...

The reason tkingdoll and hubbie have no shirts is because I screwed up.

Mea culpa..it's all my fault.

I shall be laying a path of broken glass between here and the UK to crawl upon as I personally deliver the shirts to the UK.

:dig:
