(I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, it seemed the most reasonable choice.)

Dolphin Connection International is having a symposium on Dolphins & Teleportation in Kona, Hawaii, next June. It promises:
Momentous revelations and personal experiences of Time Travel, dolphins and our evolving paradigm for 2012 in harmony with Earth.
And
... interspatial communication, quantum merging, E.T contact, teleportation to Mars, swimming in gentle waters with dolphins, sound healing, heart opening, cell activating, soul leadership, your planetary mission, laughter and humor, divine feminine, Geomancy, higher consciousness, the transformation of the ages, sacred wisdom societies, Martian life & artifacts, creating new timelines, mysticism and physics, empathy, intuition and creativity combined with logic and wisdom
Whatever that means.
Speakers include:
Andrew D. Basiago - Time traveled to Mars
Alfred Lambremont Webre, JD, M ED - Martians on Earth
Laura Magdalene Eisenhower - Mars recruit
Jean-Luc Bozzoli - Inner-Spatial artist
Joan Ocean, MS - Dolphins & Windows in time
More details here including speaker bios.

So, should we start collecting donations, it's only US$1,215 without accommodation; perhaps Hokulele or one of the other Hawaiian members would like to visit and learn the secrets of time travel?

Is this a joke in the style of Douglas Adams? Are the dolphins all going to disappear, with their final message to humanity being "So long, and thanks for all the fish"?

Everything is better with Dolphins!

I think you could add them to a symposium on almost anything. The same is true of puppies.

Does anyone else think the dolphins are laughing at them behind their flippers?

I notice how these people who are so fond of dolphins never seem to talk about a lot of the dolphin behavior traits. Like the fact that dolphins have strict pecking orders and will bite and force sex to assert their dominance. Could you just imagine someone at this symposium bringing up the fact that dolphins like to drown orca pups and eat their tongues? A real biologist could shatter a lot of peoples views just by telling the truth.

I dunno, I watched a video last night on CNN where because dolphins act like narcissistic retards when shown their own reflections, dolphins are therefore as intelligent as humans. I mean, how can you argue with logic like that?

Judging from the main Jane Ocean website, no.

I was looking through the symposium* information and thinking, "dolphins, teleportation, time travel, Mars, quantum blah blah blah--fine, but where the hell's Bigfoot?!" Fortunately, my concerns were unfounded. There he is on Joan Ocean's website, reading, writing, shape-shifting, dematerializing and living with Star People. Phew, what a relief.

*Symposium=a word that potential attendees apparently need to have defined.

No, I think dolphins are woo and haven't developed skepticism within their own culture. Well, maybe they laugh at all humans no matter what is going on.

Wait... don't you mean that orcas (which are dolphins anyway) drown whale calves and eat their tongues?

Recently (2010) information has been released about underwater and under seabed bases in the area of Puerto Rico that are known as Seagates. These are military locations where DNA research is conducted with humans and dolphins. As part of the Super Soldier program (Omega) scientists are creating hybrid people who would inherit some of the abilities of dolphins such as advanced telepathy, echo location abilities and multi-dimensional capabilities.

Holy mother of crazy...

Hehe, it would be pretty awesome if the world was actually like that. *sigh*

I still say what we need is a Physics And Dolphin Symposium. The Dolphins would just be there for fun, of course.

Dolphins can be really nice too. Sort of like people that way...or canines.

I don't know, I just started watching one of the interviews with a whistleblowing former super-soldier test-subject, and I like to think that if the military were experimenting on people, they wouldn't do it on such obviously simple-minded idiots.

Obviously he's a actually a government agent set to leak information in a largely unconvincing way. In this manner, any actual leaks could be more easily discredited by pointing to the fake leak. (I learned this watching Stargate).

Really? They can drown young killer whales? I'd have thought that would be a seriously hazardous business. Killer whales aren't exactly a pushover.

Yeah, I was really shocked when I saw the film on TV, sadly I can't remember what nature program it was. The dolphins come at the mother and pup and use group tactics to split the two up. Then while one or two dolphins distract the mother the other dolphins take turns pushing the pup under the water to drown it.

Aren't dolphins so nice and peaceful? /sarcasm

Why are woo nutballs so fond of the word "paradigm"?!? The majority of them don't even know what it means. Even though they all use it, the word itself has no true woo connotations.

I was thinking that they use it because they think it makes them sound smart, but personally, once I hear the word "paradigm", I know that I don't need to listen to any of the words that follow it.

I am nearly certain that you are misremembering this. There are several filmed scenes of adult orcas (killer whales) killing grey whale calves and specifically eating the tongue. Most notable is the scene in the BBC's Blue Planet series which is emotionally narrated by David Attenborough.

I challenge you to find any reference to any filmed scene showing an orca calf being killed by "dolphins" for its tongue.

In spite of this error your sarcasm still applies because orcas are dolphins.

This suggests dolphins forcing sex on other dolphins as well as teaming up to kill a killer whale's baby to eat it's tongue is contrary to human intelligence, do humans not force sexual advances on each other in pecking orders and go after others to eat the tongue of their young, sir? Why, just last week me and the boys had a festive week in Somalia that went quite similar to this,.... ;)

Has anyone here seen the Penn and Teller's ******** episode over Dolphins?
It makes me want to move to Sedona immediately to create a reincarnated dolphin ghost communications education program and charge thousands of dollars to attend as well.

Yes, I've seen this several times on several different programs, it was always the Killer whales hunting the tongues of other whales. Though I have seen some pretty aggressive behavior in wild bottle nose dolphins.
