Do you trust your god to let you live in perfect bliss for all of eternity? What happens down the road when God decides he is bored and needs some entertainment? It happened before.

One time in heaven one of the angels decided he was not going to tow the company line. God cast him out and the history of trouble was born. What's to keep him from doing it again?

Related question:

What if God declared murder moral tomorrow?

Would it be moral because God said so? If not, God is not the final word on morality.

According to the bible, hasn't "god" already selectively condoned murder? ...or perhaps the OT is also selective on what this commandment applies to - like it's wrong only if you murdered another Jew, any other race and it's acceptable...

Yawn. First you say God was bored, then you say an angel rebelled and God cast him out.

You can do much better - you know that humans and angels are not the same thing.

An omnipotent and omnicient god would know that the angel was going to rebel and allow it to happen. Then he could allow man to sin and fail just for his own enjoyment and the fun of frying everyone for no reason. What's to say he won't get bored in a million years and decide to have at another of his creations?

Of course this scenario is not to do with the God poorly described by Christians as that God isn't omnipotent

Sure he is. The bible says so and the bible is divinely inspired.

Very often the Bible uses metaphors and imagery to express spiritual ideas; furthermore middle eastern cultures were fond of hyperbole in making their points.

That is a LIE. The bible is exactly true in every word unless it conflicts with itself. In which case it was just a metaphor.

To make clear, I mean that God can't do absolutely everything but that God is the only source of all other beings and that there is no other being more powerful than God

Except for God's Dad. Everyone knows that God's Dad is more powerful than God. Otherwise, God's Dad could never punish God for torturing mortal beings for eternity.

Haven't you got anything better to do?

In all honesty, not really. If I had something better to do then I would do that, instead of this. As it is, this is currently the best thing I have to do.

Hey, like the honesty! I had better be off to bed really, so Good Night from me and a Good Evening to you

Assuming god exists at all, my answer would be NO. He botched up our current existence pretty good. Based on how things have progressed (regressed), it doesn't appear he's done any kind of 'lessons learned' on his original project plan. Given his thirst for blood and fame, I doubt that he could leave 'perfect bliss' alone for very long....

The Goddess has never promised perfect bliss to anyone, not even for a second.

Obviously the God of hell fire, the one true God, the God of Abraham and Isaac, the Father, the Be-all and End-all ....

Ladies and Gentlemen...in the blue heavenly corner, weighing in at an incredible amount that he himself cannot lift, wearing the bright white robes, and long flowing beard...GOD!

In the opposite corner, weighing in at a mere one hundred and seventy five pounds, wearing the green fig leaf...man .

AAAAAAHHHHHHHHLET'S GET READY TO BE PUNISHHHHHHHHED!
