Why is it that the Republicans don't believe in everyone voting? Especially folk that have lost their homes?
Sure this 'news' is 'old' (like from last tuesday), but I haven't seen it here...

This practice is a common one used by the GOP to keep unwanted voters from getting their chance to 'pull the lever'. It happened in Ohio in '04, does anyone remember that "Blackwell" dude?

There were many more issues of suppression in '00 but they would only appear redundant. Google is your friend.
Republicans appear to be a little anti-democracy...No?
from the linky said:In a conference call Tuesday, the Democratic National Committee's top election lawyer announced a lawsuit filed in federal court in Michigan to enjoin the Republican Party from pursuing plans, first reported by a Michigan blog, to challenge voters whose homes were in the process of foreclosure.

from another linky said:The Republican Party sent letters challenging thousands of Franklin County registered voters who requested absentee ballots. Franklin County is home to Columbus, the state's largest city and its capitol. Though it is also home to Ohio State University, thousands of local students go to schools outside the county or state. The GOP targeted young voters for challenges. The GOP pre-challenged an estimated 35,000 voters and rented arenas in Cleveland and Columbus to conduct the challenges. The GOP sent registered letters to registered voters’ addresses and when they failed to pick up a letter from the Republican Party in primarily Democratic areas, they were challenged for fraud. A federal judge disallowed the challenges less than a week before the election.
