Docunento: Scientist "Dr. James Randi, will deliver the sum of 1 billion to anyone who can demonstrate any paranormal or supernatural power under appropriate controls"...

are those documents also available in English? are they even real?

on YT he said he isn't interested in the money, he want merely to prove he can see true his hands and you can keep the million......

Well, the guy is mistaken. He claims that there is a billion dollar prize, but his photos of the docs say million in what I assume is Italian.

that can happen when you look true your hand :D

ETA: Didn't know Mr. Randi's Dr. title in Debunkology was official :p

I can see through my hands. I am doing it right now. The trick is to keep your fingers apart...

He used the Italian word "miliardo", which is "billion" in U.S., and apparently equivalent to $670,000 in Lire. Very confused.

Um, the site is rather confusing. What exactly is he claiming? That he can see through solid objects?

Physics: the psychokinesis
Fact. i see through the objects:walls, stones, beam, hands, other. i have created images : portraits, animal's faces on Clouds & Varnish from long distance and to give intentional shape, the area in the clouds must be established before the test.

nice music, extraordinary claims, pictures :boggled:

If I remember correctly "cloud bursting" is not applicable for the test. I don't remember why, I think it's because all clouds eventually fade away and the test subjects refused to submit to a strict time limit.

Seeing through solid objects sounds testable but I notice all the pictures show him holding an object in front of just one eye. He may simply be confused by a common optical illusion. If so it would be good for him to come here and have this explained to him.

You are close. Clouds do change rapidly. Winds at that altitude are very high so they move quickly. If the wind speed on one side is slightly different from the other side then the cloud will change shape. It would be very difficult to get a criteria that shows that the person has succeeded.

If someone CAN produce rain on demand then there is no need to apply for the MDC. Just make it rain during a draught and the psychic will be rich in no time.

"...the area in the clouds must be established before the test."
How does work? Are we to bring a cloud in, measure it, then submit it for testing?

I'm thinking it would be pretty easy to affix a camera pointing upward, zoom in as necessary, and have the cloudbuster say that within x minutes, the area viewed by the camera will have no clouds visible. Lather, rinse, repeat a few times, with several control cameras pointing at different nearby areas of the sky.

Good point Pup. I would also like to recommend Michigan in the winter for such a test. There is an interesting phenomena they call the "lake effect" that creates a solid layer of cloud from horizon to horizon. This solid cloud mass can last for days without a break. If someone could reliably break through that mass I would definitely start to believe they have a claim.

either you guys got it wrong or i got you guys wrong... the documment you are making fun of seems to be the claim guidelines for the jred challenge. which by the way mentions one billion lira, equivalent (in 2005 i guess) to 670,000 us dollars.

cheers

Since it's a solid layer, and only the area they're concentrating should be the part that goes away, I'd like to see a cloudbuster punch out a hole of a specified shape.
