Derren Brown's screaming stooges

That's a 51 minute video, plus it probably won't be watchable to people outside the UK. Could you tell us what you see in that video that's so important and what it is you wish to discuss?

my point is-
DB is a liar by claiming he does not use stooges.
the TV company is complicit in rigging this unreal reality TV show.
so the whole thing is dishonest and insulting viewers intelligence.
and, by the way, the same thing applies to hero at 30,000 feet, and the casino stunt.

Which one was the casino stunt? I saw an episode where he was counting cards in black jack. Is that what you're referring to?

I watched that Seance program when it came out but I can't bothered to watch it all again. Could you be more specific about which bit I should watch and what you think it reveals. Give the minutes in if you like.

As I remember it, nothing in it required stooges but just suggestible punters - i.e. the general public. Just look at how people on those awful haunted house type shows react to being in a dark room for 10 minutes! They're screaming at every creaky floorboard.

from what Ive seen of DB's shows previous to that one I believe they are all contrived with stooges and TV companies. especially stooge- Ben in the casino stunt.
so I believe this one was scripted, and when the stooges scream when the glass tumbles is part of the act.

to realize that most haunted is faked you only have to watch this

Obviously

Obviously the hauntings are faked in the haunted house programs, but that doesn't mean the reactions of the people in the house are faked.

They can be genuinely frightened if they are the sort of person who believes in ghosts.

May I direct you here Silver Birch, although you're a bit late to the party (the last couple of hundred posts may be of some interest to you).

because it is obvious Ben in the casino stunt is a stooge.

Yeah you realize 'it is obvious' doesn't really count as evidence?

do you believe Ben is genuine?
do you believe in santa clause, or the tooth fairy?

I really wonder what your point is? Derren Brown is a magician, the stage kind. He does some fairly good tricks and he wraps it up a nice line of patter but I fail to see what he has done to earn your apparent ire?

my point is nothing to with a magician. when a magician saws a girl in half and she steps out of the box in one piece we don't say he is a liar because we know it is a trick in the first place.
in the 'how to take down a casino stunt' DB claims to hypnotize ben into withdrawing £5000 from the bank and handing it over to him with no conscious awareness of what he has done and doesn't find out until sometime later when DB phones him unexpectedly while he just happens to be standing in a brightly lit window for the camera crew outside.
DB makes a serious claim that no stooges are used.
if you are stupid enough to believe that ben is not a stooge, that is your problem, not mine.
I've nothing further to add, and no more time to waste on the scumbag.

p.s.
I was going to post a link for the whole program, but channel 4 have blocked it.
I wonder why they have blocked that one but not other programs?

no magician will say- ''no props are used in my performances and the girls I saw in half REALLY ARE SAWN IN HALF''
that is the fundemental difference.

The whole point of DB's various acts is to manipulate people - maybe you didn't realise that that meant manipulating the viewing public too?

Well Ben may be a stooge, stage magicians use 'random audience members' who are anything but all the time, it's a standard technique so again DB wouldn't be doing anything unusual for a stage magician. Name calling however isn't proof that it is so in this case.

I've nothing further to add, and no more time to waste on the scumbag.

And naturally you follow this with two more posts.
