This week's Dr Who dealt with "ghosts" appearing before the gullible public (They are actually cybermen in disguise). Dr Who does a nice debunking of this gullibility when Rose's Mum thinks her pet ghost is her father - with familiar smells, movements etc.

That's by the by however. The bit I liked was when Dr Who was flicking through the TV channels, only to find ghosts were a major and accepted global phenomenon. On one channel, Derek Acorah is briefly glimpsed saying "No-one needs me anymore!".
Pity the BBBC probably had to pay him $$$ for that little sound bite.

So the lesson is, there's no such thing as ghosts....they're really aliens? :eye-poppi

Fundamentally Cybermen aren't actually aliens, so it's okay.

Although this particular batch are from another dimension, which might be a bit more tricky skepticismwise.

Aren't they from a parallell universe rather than another dimension? Is there a discernable difference?
What about the Doctor's description of "thousands of universes" separated by "nothing" - a void?
Pity there wasn't a physics advisor on hand for script editing.

A spoiler tag might have been in order here!

I agree, the Doctor displayed a good bit of skeptical thinking - but then, given the scope of the programme it would be unlikely for them NOT to be aliens.

Excellent series - I will be glued to Saturday's big season finale, in which....

Back on topic. I did laugh at the Degsey soundbite - I have to say it is the first time I've ever seen the old fool take himself less than 100% seriously - kudos to the Beeb!

I saw him a few months back on Harry Hill's TV Burp taking the rise out of himself almost mercilessly.
It was quite bizarre actually.
