David Icke has been kicked off Facebook, apparently, after claiming that 5G mobile networks prevent people absorbing oxygen, Germany is legalizing rape for Moslems and the Jews started the coronavirus pandemic. I don't blame Facebook; while loss of freedom of speech is a bad thing, I don't think this is a hill I'd want to die on. Anybody disagree?

I fail to see the loss of freedom of speech. He can still say those things right?
He won't be imprisoned for them.
It's just that a private company is no longer wishes to be associated with him.

I question the consistency when, as far as I can work out, if you're a political figure, you can make up any old crap and facebook will let it slide.

I heard some of Icke being interviewed on Alex Jones last week. The coronavirus was simultaneously a hoax (Icke) and an intentional bio-weapon attack from China (Jones). Cognitive dissonance is a thing.

They were probably talking past each other.

Still, Jones must've had to tone it down a notch or two to interview Icke.

Sure. It's just a coincidence that FaceBook is completely on board with the new 5G rollout!!

I realize this sort of "thinking" always seems bizarre to anybody with a more or less rational mind, but it's ridiculously common for conspiracy theorists to simultaneously believe in mutually exclusive conspiracy theories.

Icke isn't using FB as a platform for enlightening the masses, he's using it as a platform to make money from his marks. Good riddance.

This

Its not about freedom of speech. Facebook is a privately owned platform, and having a presence there is not a right, its a privilege accorded by its owners. They have the right to host whoever they want, and deny hosting whoever they don't want, and they are not even required to give a reason or a justification.

Icke is a fraud and a charlatan. I'd even be happy to see ISP's refuse to host his websites, and give the boot to any website carrying his content.

Or it may have them wondering which one of the two is the government plant on the payroll that's sowing discord here.
