Apparently Dylan Avery will be present as well. Is anyone going out to this? Are there hand-outs pointing out the flaws of LCFC?

I have to admit that while I'm not as active in the 9/11 debates here as others, I have a sort of morbid curiosity to go see what this crowd looks like. If any other D/FW JREF-ers are going to be there I would be even more curious to see a JREF-like debate taking place live.

Ugh. I've been thinking about it. I haven't put together a flyer yet, though. I'm afraid too much of my naked contempt for this trash will come roiling up and get me into trouble.

It's not really going to be much in terms of me trying to attack or really get into a huge row with some of these guys. Instead I have this fascination with wanting to see how they will behave in concentrated numbers and remain more of an observer than a participant. It's why I tend to stay back a little bit in the heavy debates that go on, because while I have my own opinion on the conspiracy theories (which isn't flattering to them) I'm not inclined to argue heavily about it. It's slightly too personal to me in terms of how this movement is affecting me and I'd rather not address the arguments in anger or open hostility.

I am, however, fascinated by the cognitive dissonance of the "movement" in terms of how starkly they portray mental habits as described in books like "Mistakes Were Made (But Not By Me)" book by C. Tavris and E. Aronson. I may want to go see this phenomenon in person.

In case anyone asks, though, are there collections of information pertaining to the LCFC release out there? I can find a lot on the 2nd Ed. version and other more general info, but no sources out there directly addressing LCFC-- just in case I need something to hand to a person who might ask me for information.

As with other screenings of this terrible film, its not likely there will be very many people there.

Weren't the tickets $10 before? Now they're $5. Not that I'm buying a single one, mind you.

Good luck with the "infiltration"...lol.

TAM:)

Yeah!

Have fun storming the castle!

Sure they had to drop the price. Now that school's out for the summer, the kids can't save up the lunch money that they got every day.

Didn't a recent showing of LC:FC in New York get canceled due to lack of interest?

Well, I went back to where I found out about it (911 Blogger) and the price there is $5. So maybe I was wrong.

I mean, once it's on the Internet, there's no way to change it, right? :)

I've got a little handout. Just some snappy phrases and a list of some websites to go to for more info. Although, maybe there's someplace we can sit and have a drink and just watch who shows up. And film them surreptitiously. There's no way to get in trouble like that, is there? :)

ETA: And then again, my uncle is cooking enchiladas and I have to get up for work in the early morning. Well, we'll see.

They look like governors, senators, retired generals, pilots, comedians, fathers , mothers, good looking etc etc.
Nothing like a debunker convention. Ugh.

I'm not going to make it. I should be leaving now and the enchiladas are getting bubbly. Sorry, guys. I can't make it to this one.

I see. So, what you're actually saying is that this Loose Change get-together by Dylan and company are just another con? Okay, if you say so.

If you ever want to engage in intellectually honest discussion, Tweeter, let me know. Otherwise you'd do well to not make too many assumptions about me. You'll just wind up making yourself look petty and foolish.

You wondered what the crowd might look like.
I simply answered. Sorry to have offended you by pointing out the obvious. Engage.

Say, I know, Tweeter! What say we wait until the blurry videos of this gathering are available, and you get some of the googlenauts together and you label the pictures to show us the governors, senator, retired generals, et al? 'Kay?

We'll be waiting, but not holding our breath.

But, he didn't say they would be senators, governors, retired generals, pilots, comedians, etc. Only that they'd look like them.

Perhaps it's a costume event.

Respectfully,
Myriad

No governors, senators, or retired generals there. I did see our sheriff, though, and she was quite friendly and gracious even when a handful of people were trying to shove more and more DVDs into her hands as she tried to leave.

It's not that you offended me, Tweeter, it's that you seem to have automatically assumed my entire stance and motives, random bolding aside. So like I said, if you're ever willing to not play word games and actually engage with intellectual honesty, I'm game. You might even be surprised.

The Loose with the truth crowd could not afford a real Premiere. Heck, they could not afford the cost of a 35mm print or a decent DCP (That would be Digital Cinema Package for those "not in the know") of their DVD.

How many people showed up? Was the theatre sold out? Was Dylan Avery there? How enthusiastically was the "film" received?
