I'm looking for recommendations for books that teach critical thinking skills. Can anyone recommend any textbooks that teach critical thinking, as well?

Thank you!

Josh :)

I have taught classes in critical thinking; once we used a text by Brooke N. Moore, Critical Thinking (McGraw-Hill, I think). I liked that one, as did the students. Another one we have used is by Browne and Keeley, Asking the Right Questions.

Essentials

How we know what isn't so, by T. Gilovich

I'd also recommend these two sort of specialized books but great nonetheless on critical thinking:
How to think about weird things, by Schick and Vaughn
and
Mistakes were made, (but not by me), by Tavris & Aronson

These are general reading but have been used as textbooks as well. I think that's better than a text, actually.

Informal Logic by Douglas Walton, 2nd edition.

I'll second Sagan's Demon-Haunted World also. I consider it a classic and besides it's fun to read.

The Undercover Philosopher: A Guide to Detecting Shams, Lies and Delusions by Michael Philips. I just started this one.
