Creation Science Fair

For anyone who hasn't checked out the Science thread, the general consensus is that the Creation Science Fair website is a parody.

If you browse the root site it looks pretty legit.

My personal opinion is that it is a very elaborate parody that has lasted many years. I think it is just subtle enough to spur discussions like the present one.

When Landover Baptist Church's web site went on-line several years ago, I used to frequently read the bulletin board. There was a poster named Jim Carlson who ranted about the site being anti-christian. The fights with this poster were legendary, and people turned to posting imposter messages.

I suspect that the Landover folks took that original negative feedback and the fun that the imposters' messages created and spun it into the elaborate, multi-layered hoax we see.

I applaud the site.

Of course it is a parody.

But at first sight I really had some kind of shock on the lines of: "Oh my gawd(:p), that can't be true."

After a closer inspection it becomes quickly clear that, although some people are stupid, they are rarely that stupid.

However, I really liked this one:
"Pokemon Prove Evolutionism Is False" - Paul Sanborn (grade 4)

That is a dead giveaway, because I think it is very unusual for creationists to even know what pokemon is ;)

Thanks for the clarification. It will take years off my therapy.
