Lately we have also been experimenting with gyro mounting locations, and it appears to be much more stable with the gyro/accelerometer board mounted down low on the robot, rather than up high, which is something that was not an obvious thing to do.
Those bots are cool. I would love to build one, but my mechanical knowledge is next to nil. Still, I got to smile and gloat when I read the above quote, because I'd have known that. No really.
Hehehe - well, it's always easy to say, "I would have thought of that!" after someone else has already thought of it, eh?
