Hey cool. I remember My algebra teacher showed us a film strip that did the same thing. But I believe it only went down to the cellular level.

I remember being truly fascinated by it then, and I am still am now. Groovy link.

Those java applets are really cool. Especially the Moire pattern generator, under Optical Illusions. You should try putting it on parallel lines for both, and turn all 4 knobs to the far left
