I apologize for the cross posting on this -- but I have not seen any of the skeptical community participating in a question I posed on the Genii forums -- under Buzz under the title as above "Controversial uses of Magic."

In this thread I have used the premise that the Fundamentalist Evangelical Ministers on "Magic Show Missions" to India, Thailand, Bagladesh and other nations with vast non-Christian populations use a bait and switch context when they lure an audience in with the promise of magic then switch into a sermon and their brand of religion beinbg the only way to live.

Reports from friends in India have indicated that in some rural provinces western magic is now being viewed as a Christian Come On by the general population.

The thread got to 108 posts on May 31 with much pot shotting at my respect for other cultures and religions by supporters of this type of evangelical magic. They have shut their eyes -- or are believers that magic and religion should mix. (The US Constitution deals with that subject in Government -- but not entertainment.)

I would hope members of this forum wioukd at least scan the posts and comment. Nakul Shenoy of Bangladore, India is also participating and is working on his doctorate in using Magic (stage, etc) as a communication tool.

Thanks -- Genii Forums -- Buzz -- Controversial Uses of Magic.

I knew someone who used to steal money off the collection plates at church with a $50 bill covered in a sticky substance that was stuck attached to something that made it and a few other bills on the collection plate disappear up his sleeve. Everyone around him thought "how generous of him to donate $50"

Clever hah ;)
