THis was all part of GW's plan. He wanted Korea to test those rockets, especially the long range rocket. Why? So he could finally unleash the Reagan Sattilite anti-missle death ray! It worked like a charm. Korea looks foolish cause the rocket failed, Bush proved to them he can knock them down, and the deathray is still under wraps!

No, no, NO! Yo have ti all wrong, North Korea was attacked by GWB launching his evil weather control/ death ray at Kim's paradise on earth.
North Korea bravely used the only means at their disposal to deflect the evil American imperialistic weapon. Bush has used his iron grip on the world media to paint NK as the bad guys.

Thats plain silly. The weather control machine wont be fully operational till the end of the year!

Superman. Had to be the unveiling of the real life Superman. Think about. The timing with the theatrical release is nearly perfect.

It was obviously super thermite, not a death ray! You're so blind to the Trooth!

I wonder what stance the U.S. will take regarding the recent rumor that Uraguay is testing a crystal-laser capable of melting through the strongest armor?

Yeah, but can it melt through adamantium?

:)

Only the tests will tell. It's rumored to slice through the bio-plasma shielding on Chilean tanks and reduce the diamond-weave armor in Bolovian bunkers to glittery rubble! ;)

I wouldn't worry. Our American-brand Mirror Armor should reflect their lasers right back at them. To think, crazy liberals criticized the billions that Reagan dedicated to Mirror Armor development as wasteful.

And to think way back in the 80s that we all thought it was wasteful! See, the neo-cons are right, only history will tell! ;)

I still think we would have been better off with invisible ink. The lasers would just fly through us. Mirror Armor always reflects laser beams off in crazy directions.

What about the crack guinea pig ABM squad from Alaska were they not invovled...

You can get such lasers off the shelf right now - a laser that can cut through steel is going to be able to cut through pretty much anything else you could throw at it, and thickness only affects how LONG it takes to cut through. So the claim that a laser can cut through the strongest armor is, by itself, meaningless. How big is the laser? How portable? How fast can it cut through what? How fast is the targeting? What's the range on it (lasers do not have infinite range, the beams do diverge)? Being able to cut through heavy armor isn't enough to make a laser an effective weapon.

I haven't heard of any rumors about Uruguay working on military lasers, but I have no reason to think they're doing anything significant, or that we'd really care about whatever they are doing. We have some ABM lasers ourselves, including this nice little experimental platform for an airborne laser. I seriously doubt Uruguay has anything comparable, and the system I linked to does NOT penetrate "the strongest armor".

What a sensible and factual post.

:) Hey Zig, loosen up or I'll have to turn my new prototype weapon from Tongo on you! Yep! The Tongo Tickle Beam (TTB) will incapacitate anyone within a 5,000 mile radius with hysterical laughter. Tongo will become a world power when this weapon is unveiled, and there is nothing you can do about it! :)

Oh crap! You've got Tongolese weapons? I'm sorry man, I was only kidding. Please, put your TTB away.

What are you doing?

Stop pointing that thing at me!
:dalek:
No, don't do it! Ahhhhh!
:skull:
