I guess some conservative was fed up with the democratic monopoly on the "underground" and decided to even the odds. Take a look, you'll find some of the best and most well-reasoned arguments from well-recognized legal scholar Ann Coulter, intellectual powerhouse Rush Limbaugh, and radical cleric James Dobson.

More likely someone thought they noticed a market nich. I doubt it. Free Republic is pretty much the established opposing view to DU. They differ only in how quickly any opposing view, no matter how slight, will suddenly find their password no long works. On Freep, you pretty much have to troll, be warned, troll, be warned, troll, be banned. On DU you may get in as many as ten posts before you're (unofficially but without warning) booted.

When was this site put up? Whois indicates the name has been in use since 2002 but that doesn't mean much.

Why don't they follow the Bush template? Bush does not even allow anyone with opposing views at his rallies or 'town hall' meetings. Free Republic should do the same, otherwise they are anti-American.

Actually, I have been reading the site this morning. There's a fair amount of yelling, but some pretty good discussion also.
