Hi all -
I'm having trouble setting up my other half's rinky-dink new Pocket PC (an HP iPAQ 2210).
It seems to me that I should be able to use Bluetooth to surf the web and pick up emails, and so on (actually the emails are okay since I guess they'll be picked up and sent when it syncs).
So the problem is getting connected to the internet.
The Bluetooth stuff seems to work okay; I can see files on the host PC and all that sort of thing.
When I try to connect to the internet it says "Unable to connect: You have no modem entries created, and no network card present".
Fair enough... So I go to the Settings link that is kindly offered, and then the "Advanced" tab. I see three buttons: One for "Network Card" - "Select what your network card connects to". Tap that - I get "My network card connects to: " and a bunch of adapters; one of which is the Bluetooth PAN User Driver.
Tap that, and set up an IP address. Makes no difference.
All the other settings appear to imply that I can only connect by using the modem to dial up. I don't want to do that.
The other bit of info is that the host PC is connecting to the internet via a router - that might have an effect. The Host PC has the router connection set up for internet sharing (specifically for this new Pocket PC).
Is this insoluble? Have I misunderstood what is possible?
Any clues as to what I'm doing wrong or a suggestion of a new direction would be gratefully received!
