Reads the caption:

A supporter of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez wearing a T-shirt of Osama Bin Laden holds a poster of Cuban revolutionary Ernesto 'Che' Guevara beside graffiti that reads 'George W. Bush and Alvaro Uribe assassins of the people' during a rally to commemorate the anniversary of Venezuela's democracy in Caracas, Venezuela, Sunday, Jan. 23, 2005. Supporters praise Chavez for championing national sovereignty and social justice, while critics say his growing power threatens democracy. (AP Photo/Fernando Llano)

Okay, I've tolerated "Islamist" (Muslim, anyone?), but what the ◊◊◊◊ is "Islamism"? Perhaps you mean "Islam"?

In that whole post, THAT'S what you find offensive?

If there is one things Islamic fundies hate more than Jews that's communist.

Yet, oddly enough, they were in alliance with the Soviet Union against America until 1979. (And then, they continued to cooperate when it suited them.) Odd isn't it.

Venezuela is not as far as I am aware a muslim country

I suspect teletubby involvement too...

Am I the only one that thinks the photo looks like one of those almost-but-not-quite-realistic photoshop jobs one sees in The Onion?

Ever hear of a little country called Chechnya? Ok so it doesn't exist right now but these guys have been muslim extreamists for certuries (along with Ingushetia). They have hated the sovites since about 1942/3. While they were allied with the USSR during the early part of world war two they haven been since

Ok so that is probably a little small for you have about Indonesia? In 1966 about half a million comunists were killed by the local muslims.

I think that rather finishes off your case.

What does it have to do with the post? There, right before your eyes, is a Venezuelan Communist wearing an Osama bin Laden t-shirt. Whom are you going to believe, your little beliefs or your lying eyes?

Jocko;

I got the photo from Yahoo! News Photos, and it is under the byline of the AP. The link is here:

Hasn't it occured to you that is because they don't like the US very much? There are still all those acusations about the coup that we never really got to the bottem of. Wearing a bin larden t-shirt does not make you a muslim. Holding a picture of che does not make you a comunist left wing with a revelutionary edge maybe but che isn't just a comunist symbol any more.

You are kidding right? You mean I'm wrong to infer the man in the picture is a Communist? Che thingy? Red beret? The first graffitti reads "Bush, Uribe, murderers of the people", the second (partially) reads "Beligerence... the guerrilla... people in...?" What else do you want, that the old man have "Communist" tatooed in his forehead?

Well it is claimed that the guy is a supported of Chavez who isn't a comunist.

Sometimes an idiot is just an idiot and you shouldn't read much into it.

Except maybe that once you've identified him as an idiot, you can then note that it's idiots who tend to idolize Che and OBL.

Lucky that dude wasn't wearing a britney spears T, Imagine the conspiracy theories...
