Brian Gerrish discovered Common Purpose when he was involved with a group in Plymouth in the west of England helping people find jobs and one of their projects was repairing wooden boats. The Wierd thing is if I were a citizen of the UK,I would have problems with the EU trying to usurp the soveregnity of the UK in some areas,but I would oppose it as the overreaching of a bunch of EU bureaucrats,not a vast evil conspriacy.probably by reptilian aliens.

Not at all; in fact being able to speak without any recognisable accent - or language - is a prerequisite for a job as Platform Announcer at any of Britain's railway stations. You're almost guaranteed a job in a call centre too.

Despite the various conspiracy theories about the EU, there is a very real reason to be skeptical of it.

How do you know you can trust them, when if you want to see the register of MEP's interests, you have to go to Brussels / Strasbourg, and actually go into the parliament building to do so?
No photocopying, digital photography etc is permitted. Only hand written notes are allowed to be made.

There was a corruption scandal with the EU commission, and another one followed, which engulfed Romano Prodi who had pledged to clean things up but instead did the opposite.

So much money, bureaucracy & red tape flying about.

A lot of sovereignty has been eroded, fishing fleeds demolished whilst foreign trawlers fish in British waters and get away with quota hopping.

And we were never given a referendum on the EEC becoming a European Union.

Despite the many conspiracy theories about the EU, the truth about it is not much better. I do think however, that the conspiracy theories about it make life harder for its skeptics.
