I forget if there is a better term for the "look at the pictures, give me a reading" form of psychic ability but here is a test that actually won't piss you off and is kind of fun.

My best score is 620 but I've always had "the gift."

NOTE: The game has some NSFW items in text only.

It is pretty fun, but it's hardly a test of clairvoyance. It says in the FAQ they remove the pictures people usually guess wrong. As a result, the correct picture is the one of the person who looks most like they made that claim. So, I think it mostly shows how closely your appearance-based preconceptions/prejudices match that of other people.

Wow, 620 is impressive. I have not been able to get beyond 200 or so. Interesting, for sure, but frustrating, even reading the info I get it wrong. I seem to be better at getting the women correct for some reason.

Perhaps you, kosai, have an opportunity as a police officer?

Just the same, pardon an old gray-haired hippy-dippy for observing that appearances mean nothing without context.

Somebody managed a 4020... That's just spooky. Either that or they played the game long enough to recognize people. Even I saw some duplicate faces when I played.

My 620 was without looking at anyone's "file" as well.

Yes, this is not a test for clairvoyance, although it is an explanation for the illusion of clairvoyance.

There's a trick that depends on the mark guessing a vegetable completely at random. Turns out that 99.9% of people choose 'carrot'.

I won't bore you with more description of the trick, but the point is that a widespread cultural prejudice is not clairvoyance.

Yes, I was not serious in my use of the term but actually was looking for the correct vocabulary... maybe it is just "picture reading," I believe it was on the NOVA special Randi tested (I think it was a) russian lady who claimed she could do it quite accurately. Randi, if memory serves correctly, presented her with the picture of a mass murderer.

It is certainly an example of scrying.

If the photo needs to be touched by the clairvoyant, it's psychometry.

I played for about 3 minutes and at least 5 of the same people showed up with the same question, but a different alternate choice. Play it long enough, your score will improve.
