Norris, who rose to fame in the 1970s and 1980s as the star of such films as "The Delta Force" and "Missing in Action," says the book's title would mislead readers into thinking the facts were true.

I thought he was in some ad with Huckabee exploiting the whole "facts" thing. In fact, that's the only thing has kept him in the public eye, apart from product home fitness product endorsements.

"Defendants have misappropriated and exploited Mr. Norris's name and likeness without authorization for their own commercial profit," said the lawsuit.

I suppose he is not really offended by the book. He's just trying to make some money out of this story. Not bad.

What would Jesus do? Sue, sue, sue!

I'm not sure why this is becoming a big deal, Chuck Norris "facts" have been sold on t-shirts, calendars, etc. in stores like Spencer's for a long time now.

I don't see why he's bothering with a lawsuit. Chuck Norris should just roundhouse kick the guy in the face.

Chuck Norris is, though, a regular guy. Puts his pants on one leg at a time. Only difference is, then he kills people.

He was being a pretty good sport about the lists themselves, but in this case someone is profiting off of it, and allegedly there are racial allegations in it.

I'm not sure that you can successfully sue for damages over the use of someone's public persona in a parody/satire/humor context, especially when the context is so obviously positive and celebratory.

Yes, in the name of Jesus ....

I once attended a StarTrek convention (gasp!) that featured Leonard Nimoy and Jonathan Harris, the evil doctor Zachery Smith in "Lost in Space". Harris is an American actor with an English accent ("I'm not British, just affected.") At one point he was apparently hired to help a young martial arts student, Norris, who seemed to be ideal for the part, but didn't know how to act. Harris spent about 20 minutes describing the trying time, with repeated assertions about the lack of an ability to simultaneously "walk and chew gum", though Harris made clear that their relationship was and is cordial.

IMDB says of Norris, "His voice and drama coach was Jonathan Harris, of "Lost in Space" (1965) fame. Harris "taught him how to speak," by putting his fingers in Norris's mouth, and stretching the mouth wide open. Chuck names Jonathan as the only man in the world who could get away with doing that to him... which Harris was always proud of."

So much better than normal jeans where you have to keep your legs together all the time.
