Christian exodus...

I'd suggest that SC is not the most pious of all the states, and these people may want to start in Mississippi, Alabama, or Kansas; states that are already primed for theocracy. You can't move enough people into a state to reform their political ideals, as such you need a good base of religious nuts already in the state. While my home state has it's share, it's not nearly enough to base such an ambitious undertaking.

It would be a shame to watch my state slip into such a pit of ignorance and despair, but like the above poster, I really really don't think it will happen.

I wonder how many who read that Mark Twain quote know what he thought of people like them.

I live in Greenville County, just southwest of Spartanburg. The first I knew of these people was a report on the Daily Show a while back. I did see a van with a "Cristian Exodus" sticker in the window last spring but that's about it other than a short story on the crappy local news broadcast. As far as I know they've only managed to move a wee fraction of the people they projected for the "exodus". Looking around the site though gives one an insight into just how truly out there these people are. I frightens me that their goal is to try to cram god up other peoples' a**es.

Their stated plan calls for 2500 voters to move to South Carolina by, oh, what do you know, tomorrow. The most up to date figure I could find from about six months ago had them at a little over 20 people. I think they're a little behind schedule.
