Partick Thistle Win 3-1 As Roberts Nets Two

Who are Partick Thistle playing today then, and how many goals will Gravy score?

The following is absolutely true, except for the parts I made up (which is pretty much all of it):

Partick Thistle defeated Aberdeen 3-1 today in a light drizzle at Aberdeen's pitch. The hero of the match was Partick Thistle's striker, Mark Roberts, who netted two goals and set up the third with a nifty corner kick.

Roberts beat Aberdeen's keeper, Bruce Watson, on a penalty kick in the 34th minute to put Partick up 1-0. After Aberdeen equalized on an own-goal just before intermission, Roberts weaved through four defenders and beat Watson with a right-footed shot low and just inside the left post in the 58th minute.

Aberdeen mounted steady offensive pressure for most of the second half, but had their hearts broken in the 81st minute when Jeffrey Seabright knocked a left-footer past Watson off a brilliant corner kick from Roberts.

After the match, both teams repaired to the local establishment where they reportedly emptied an entire case of single-malt Scotch.

It's currently 0-0 at half time against Ross County.

As for Gravy's potential to score goals, this is what his team profile says:

Mark Roberts surpirsed many, possibly including himself, by netting on 23 occasions last season, the best single season return by a player since Maurice Johnston in 1982-83. Roberts would admit to not being a natural goalscorer but one whose link play is vitally important, although he certainly was on the mark last season.

ETA:

1-0! Mark Roberts has scored in the 68th minute! Good work Gravy!

Sod that. Can he introduce us to any cracking WAGS?

And if they're from Partick Thistle, would they be Jags' WAGs?

(I'm betting no-one outside the UK will get this one)
