Chasing UFOs.

Looks like the National Geographic channel is going the way of the History Channel. I just saw an ad for a show called Chasing UFOs. A team of "trained investigators" will investigate various reports of UFOs. I predict they'll debunk a few to make themselves look like good skeptics, but then declare that some of them can't be explained by science and call for people to have an open mind.

Just saw another ad. They're going to send a signal into space for the 35th anniversary of the Wow! signal. You can tweet what you'd like them to send.

I've seen the ads as well, and they look downright silly with the "investigators" throwing themselves around like urban commandos....
Recently listened to an interview with one of the Nat Geo execs on NPRs "On The Media" program.
He explained that the organization had only partial ownership of the TV network, and that they were in negotiations to produce programming that "better reflected the mission" of the organization.
Looks like they're not there yet....

I think that this is the most relevant post here so far.

I suggest that when you lend your name to something, you maintain absolute control as to how it is used.
