Chandra Levy murder: charges dropped for convicted man

Charges have been suddenly dropped for the man convicted of Chandra Levy's murder. Ingmar Guandique is being released from jail and will be deported to El Salvador. Gary Condit is a topic again as some of his other mistresses have come forward to say that he was into heavy bondage sex and Levy's bones were found with her knotted jogging tights.

Prosecutors have dismissed murder charges against a man accused in the death of Chandra Levy, a Washington, D.C., intern whose 2001 disappearance created national headlines.

Federal prosecutors said they can no longer prove a case against Ingmar Guandique because of "recent unforeseen developments that were investigated over the past week," Bill Miller, public information officer for the U.S. Attorney's Office in Washington, said Thursday in a news release. In May this year, counsel for Guandique indicated they would present evidence that would implicate Condit in Chandra Levy murder. Exactly where this now leaves Condit remains to be seen...

One of those articles states the charges were dropped because the jailhouse snitch lied and the other one states it is because Condit lied. They probably both lied, but it would be nice to know the real reason the State isn't going to retry the guy.
