Chamomile tea drinkers have "higher levels of a substance called glycine" which is a neurotransmitter in the spinal cord. It contains hipurate which can cause rashes, blood in urine, lower back pain, nausea and vomiting. It also contains sedatives and anti-inflamatories. "Chamomile tea can cause a severe reaction in people allergic to ragweed. Chamomile can also affect the absorption of iron."

Just kidding, the real story is
Study: Chamomile tea may help beat colds

Tea drinkers, rejoice: new research supports claims that chamomile tea can protect the body from a host of ills, including colds and menstrual cramps.
Chemicals in tea - good. Exact same chemicals in prescription drugs - bad.

I usually drink Chamomille tea when i have the cold. It tastes good, the vapours has a soothing effect when inhaled and so on. Does it help? i really don't know and i really don't care, i like the stuff.:D

But if you want a GOOD cure then here goes: Drink a large shot of Rhum/whiskey/gin/schnapps .... every 90minutes. It doesn't help but it makes it funnier to be ill.....:D :D :D

Ah, but see, they're not really "chemicals" when they're in tea. They're probably "organic botanicals" or something.

They only become "chemicals" if the pharmaceutical company extracting them is an uncaring multinational corporate conglomerate.

I keep seeing foods marked as "organic" such as "organic eggs". What are inorganic eggs, I wonder?

Those pickled "eggs" you sometimes see floating in jars on bars. Ever eat one of those?

Ya , and I still glow in the dark.
Maybe I should just have a cup O' tea.

I have never had chamomile tea but I certainly am not looking to add additional drugs to my system. I took a sip of my coffee while writing that sentence and decided maybe it needs revision.

Caffeine also increases dopamine levels -- the neurotransmitter that is affected by drugs like amphetamines and heroin.

So I guess I was being two-faced. I will continue to change the neurotransmitters in my brain.

I have always found that alcohol is excellent at reducing congestions. Or maybe I just forget that I am congested.

Those of you wishing to avoid evil increases in dopamine should also give up sex and snack food.

Just because it has the same chemicals as a prescription drug dosent make it bad for you, I am sure many teas and herbal substances contain substances which constituate prescription drugs, but they are in smaller ammounts. It is when the Med companies extract and concentrate the chemicals that thier danger increases.

Apparently chamomile can act as a relaxant, feaver reducer, and antinflamatory.

One of the greatest dangers of chamomile is being alergic to it. Apperently it can cause some pretty nasty reactions.
