Skepticism for Students and Adults: An Aussie Perspective

Sunday, Oct. 21
11 a.m. in Hollywood
4:30 p.m. in Costa Mesa
$6.00 or Free for Friends of the Center

Science education is the best protection against being exploited financially and emotionally by claims of the paranormal. Advocating that education is Australian author and a secondary school science teacher Lynne Kelly, who has written 10 books for the education market and a popular science book, The Skeptic’s Guide to the Paranormal.

More than an author and teacher, Kelly brings fun into learning skepticism with simple demonstrations exposing pseudoscientific claims, including her own fake psychic system called “Tauromancy.” Kelly also has written a book, Crocodile: Evolution’s Greatest Survivor? and a skeptical novel for young adults called Avenging Janie. Catch this defender of science while she’s on the continent. Copies of her books will be available. Be sure to bring the kids!
