Wednesday, April 21, at 7 PM, CNY Skeptics holds its monthly meeting. The speaker this month is Steve Wood who will give a talk entitled “Myths, Folklore, Old Wives Tales, and Urban Legends.” We meet at the Betts Branch Library, 4862 S. Salina (just south of Seneca Turnpike), Syracuse.

Please join us for intellectual stimulation, thoughtful (most of the time) discussion, and social time with people whose minds are open just enough.

For more information, send a pm or an e-mail.

Well, I went to this meeting last night and had another good time. Steve Wood is a good public speaker with a witty sense of humor. The presentation was very interesting, even though most of us knew about most of the urban legends. Still, he threw us for a loop a few times, especially with his facts about the origin of breakfast cereal (as it relates to masturbation).

We also met at Denny's afterwards. Once again, good discussion ensued.

What happened to all of you other CNY Skeptics? I was looking forward to meeting some other JREF Forum members. Maybe next month.
