'Hmm, this guy discovered this wierd bacteria in people who were very sick. If it is common in sick people, it must be able to cure them!'
'The bacteria was never discovered again by any other scientist! Therefore it must exist and be a miricle cure!'

hmm, it has never been found except by the scientist who discovered it
OH I KNOW, I will ferment various hearts and livers, then dry the substance into pills! The pills will surely contain large ammounts of the bacteria, and it will not be killed by being dried or digested!'
'Wait, I have an even better idea, instead of converting the fermented goo to pills, I will dilute it 200 times using a technique which is "assumed" to have a ratio of 1:100, then add it to milk sugar!'
What do we get when we dilute the active ingrediant of something
to 1:100^200, then mix it with sugar?
A PLACEBO!!!!!
