Car crashes into Downing Street gates

I'm seeing reports that a car has crashed into the gates of Downing Street & it's currently under lockdown. I haven't seen any details yet except one picture that shows the car didn't make it through the gate (unsurprisingly).

It's yet to be announced if, on hearing they were going into lockdown, any Downing Street workers were trampled in the rush for the wine fridge.

How much do we think someone is driving down Whitehall and their sat nav says "Take the next turn", so they turn into Downing Street?

If folk can drive into rivers, canals, the sea, over the Bealach na Ba in a campervan despite the signs telling you not to do that, try to drive down the (foot only) lane behind our house and all the rest because "Sat nav says!" then Downing Street is a piece of piss.

Missing in action. Maybe she's off teaching lawyers in Rwanda, although why Rwandan lawyers need someone to go all that way to teach them to photocopy is beyond me.

Perhaps Johnson was doing his 'Driving While Giving Two Thumbs Up' schtick again?

Pity the cctv footage doesn't start a bit earlier, the car in question seemed to have been on the other side of the road in the entrance to another gated government car park and turned away from that to cross the road. Still the earlier fottage may make it clearer that this was a mistake and not a deliberate attempt, and the media can't have that now can they?
