This seems to be a different kind of faith healing case from India. I find it hard to believe.

He says he has the photographs w/ negatives of the white light entering his body which rose from the holy sikh scripture book during a sikh prayer session which has cured his cancer during his visit to Golden temple in India. He described it as spiritual experience. He is sharing his story all over the sikh temples in India and advising sikh followers to follow the sikh scriptures, recite the hymns from the scripture and have guru's faith. If you search his name on youtube you can find his videos in Hindi describing the incident.

What you guys think ?

Abstract:

The man named Vasu Bharadwaj was a skeptic Indian science writer diagnosed with bone cancer called multiple myeloma which had destroyed much of his bones. On April 29th 2002, He had completed three and half years of painful life as a terminally bed-ridden cancer patient. He was slowly dying of cancer. He also had suffered from tumour on the right side of his head. The bony structures of his right ear had been eaten away by bone cancer that lead him total deafness in his right ear. He did six chemotherapy sessions – one every 28th day. He was advised by someone to undertake a pilgrimage to the holy Golden Temple at Amritsar, India and offer Akhand Path(continuous recitation of sacred sikh text) and Ardas(Sikh prayer) with complete faith. He was permitted to photograph and tape-record entire Akhand Path as well as Shabad Kirtans(recitation of hymns or mantras from sacred sikh text) which he wanted to keep listening even after the kirtan session was over. He did not speak Punjabi but he knew little bit of Urdu, that made him understand some of the Sikh hymns and kirtan. In the middle of kirtan session, the moment the ceremonial reader started reciting the Akhand Path, he reported to began feeling streams of energy entering and flowing through his body. The white light as he reports rose majestically from the pages of Sri Guru Granth Sahib(sikh sacred text) like a serene cool flame of light entering his body through his fingers. He reported that after that incident the excruciating pain which he had suffered while struggling to reach the Golden Temple also disappeared. He further reports that after 48 hours, he got up on his own feet and began to feel and enjoy such vibrant health that he almost ran with joy. His appetite returned. On 8th May 2002 and on 25th May again bone marrow analysis and electrophoresis tests were done his my body and no cancer was detected. To obtain second medical opinion, the samples were sent to Mumbai and Ahmedabad and medical doctors there also confirmed that the bone cancer is gone. His oncologist at Ahemedabad Dr. Pankaj Shah was preparing for stem cells transplant on him. The entire medical world was taken by surprise. All doctors agreed that this is, indeed, a miracle because there is no medicine in Allopathy that can cure deadly cancer within 48 hours and effect a 180 degree change. The latest electrophoresis: serum protein test done is dated April 7th 2003 at Abha Clinical Laboratory. The doctors have signed this medical test report with comments: " no melanomas band." He has preserved all the medical reports and x-rays done before and after the Akhand Path and Ardas at Golden Temple and they all tell the true story of my miraculous cure. Ever since this miracle, I am not only experiencing Guru's vibrations within me but also feel God's spiritual energy within me which inspires me and guides me in thought and deed, and vibrate in unison with him. I am joyfully back to " cheers and gears of life.", soulfully sharing my God-Given spiritual energy with those who love and faithfully listens to Guru Granth Sahib and enrich their mind, body and soul with divinely vibrant health. Now, he reports to be enjoying the life of guru-inspired faith and taking Sri Guru Granth Sahib and God as his constant companion. The divine magnetic spell of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, which he realized through Naam therapy(recitation of the holy sikh text) that has not only blessed him with healthy life but considering his greatly vibrant health, spiritual strength and new youthful looks and glamorous shining black hair, the same oncologists tells him that he is totally free of all kinds of diseases. He himself feels so close to the Guru that something tells him that he will live for 125 years and will remain in Guru's service and bring true love, happiness and inspiration to all my friends.

Do we know if the photographs have been altered in any way?

Do we know if there were any particular mundane light sources around the holy book?

Sounds like aurora reading that was popular in the west in the mid 70's There was supposed to be some special camera could photograph the effect and identify injuries and illnesses from the color or strength of the aurora around the human body

I don't know.

He believes if he shows the photos publicly they will be commercially misused. He thinks the holy light in the photo would be used by an candle maker Industries to sell you a candle which gives you similar holy light, he literally said that in the video. He says my guru is not for commercial use.

I don't know about the mundane light. But as he says - The light rose from the middle of the holy sikh book and entered through his fingers and cured the cancer while he was listening to the "kirtan" done by sikh clergy at the Golden temple.

I found another link, just read the first post - "Miracle of Guruvani"

If he wrote that himself, he's no science writer. Melanoma is skin cancer; it can spread to the bones, but by that time, it's spread pretty well everywhere. He perhaps means multiple myeloma, which is a cancer of the bone marrow. It can cause bone lesions, but not widespread destruction of complete bones.
It's an elementary mistake which says a lot about his alleged science credentials and his so-called skepticism.
It was April 27th 2002 when three different teams of oncologists and haematologists from Mumbai, Surat and Ahmedabad presented me with the unanimous medical investigation reports based on their repeatedly unanimous findings, they passed their judgment with one voice that my life is going to end in a few days as the deadly cancer called multiple melanomas has ruined most of my bones that are functionally vital for my survival.
Another red flag is his claim of doctors telling him he had only days to live. If he was that close to death with cancer, he simply wouldn't be conscious.
I have preserved all the medical reports and x-rays done before and after the Akhand Path and Ardas at Golden Temple and they all tell the true story of my miraculous cure.
So why hasn't he published them?

ETA: Yup, he did call it melanoma.

So he is not willing to put up proof of something that could change the entire world as we know it?

Are there even any medical records showing that he had cancer and now doesn't have cancer?

It states he was a 'skeptical science writer'. What did he write? When and where were they published.

I admit I did not follow the links and read through it all. Right now it is all too anecdotal to bother.

I wrote that abstract myself to summarize from these links:

I think he showed the proof to some sikh clergy guys and not to the general public(maybe some close friends I think). The original link does say that he had the reports which says he had cancer and then after the incident the report says he don't have any cancer.

There are not many citations to the original article to verify it, but the miracle news article was featured in the Tribune newspaper in 2003 -(scroll down and see the post - "Faith cured him of cancer")

So wuddya think? Accept such reports as is, and overturn much of what we know, or figure that there's gotta be some catch somewhere and that - gasp - things are not what they seem? (at least until solidly demonstrated, as opposed to merely being claimed, which is all that the links do - make a claim).
