Live blog of Harold Camping answering Questions.

World still ending on Oct. 21. May 21 was Judgment day. But it was a "spiritual judgment" not "physical." Not giving money back. Not taking any responsibility for followers' actions.

Today 10:04 AM "The World Has Been Warned. My Has It Been Warned!" says Camping

Camping says there will be no more billboards or street preaching, but the world is still ending Oct. 21.
Today 10:05 AM "May 21 Was A Spiritual Coming, Where We Had Thought It Was a Spiritual Coming."

"It won't be a five-month terrible difficulty...that we have learned," said Camping. Instead, he says, the world will end quickly on Oct. 21 without any build up.
Today 10:12 AM Will Camping Give Donors Money Back or Help Them Out?

"It is true that a few people have" quit jobs or depleted life savings to donate to Family Radio or spread his Judgment Day message, Camping says, but he says he never told people to do that.

"There are people who for example that have given up their jobs...to work for Family Radio, given their time, and they do because they love the Lord."
Today 10:14 AM Camping says again that Judgment Day Came, "It Was Just Spiritual."

"The timing, the structures, the proofs, none of that has changed at all," says Camping.

He is sticking to the numerology he used to determine the May 21 and Oct. 21 dates.

"All I am is a humble teacher. I search the Bible. I search the Bible," he says.
Today 10:25 AM Camping Tells Reporter that Humans are Not Capable of Understanding the Bible

Reporter, after hearing Camping talk about his studies of the Bible, asks Camping if he is saying that "we as humans are not capable of understanding the Bible?"

"You are correct," says Camping. He starts telling a story from the Bible about Saul.
Huh? But you said "The Bible guarantees it."
Today 10:29 AM Camping Doesn't Take Responsibility for Followers' Actions

Reporter, speaking of a May 21 follower: "How do you feel about this woman who tried to take her life and her own daughters' life?"

Camping hears incorrectly and thinks that somebody committed suicide.

Camping: "She attempted to? Oh my that makes me feel better because death is terrible. It's contrary to all that the Bible teaches."

Reporter: "Do you take any responsibility for that?"

Camping says he does "not take responsibility. I don't have spiritual rule of anybody, except my wife," he chuckles. "Because as head of the household I have spiritual rule over my wife."

Today 7:53 PM What About People Who Depleted Life Savings to Promote Camping's Message?

Camping declines to offer them help.

He says the country experienced a recession. "Lots of people lost their homes" and jobs. But he says "they survived."

"People cope. People cope," says Camping.

He says job, housing and investment loses during the recent economic decline are far worse than what "the average Family Radio listener" has experienced.

Whatta guy.

Whatta guy.

Aside: Apparently the live blog shows each browser's local time.

On topic: So is Camping saying that, if I understand, since Judgment Day is already past, basically there's no point in accepting Jesus now, if you hadn't already done it? Conversely, those who were saved on the 21st, are in no matter what they do between now and October 21st?

Guy seems like quite the stubborn fool.

Here's another interesting one I found.

A reporter at the Family Radio station: "On Oct. 21, will you give away all your worldly possessions?"

Camping: "I still have to live in my house...I still have to pay my bills...I still have to live until the end. The end is five months away."

Reporter: "How about on the day before, the 20th?"

Camping: "What would be the value of that?...If it's Judgment Day, it's the end of the world."

So, put your money where your mouth is! I willl sign paperwork saying that I will not touch your property untill the day AFTER, just in case it happens at 11:59pm.

Bet he won't do it.

Camping is a fraud and a charlatan.

It's obvious even he doesn't believe what he is claiming now.

I am getting a kick out of his announcement of Oct 21st mainly because I heard them saying this yesterday and this morning before camping made the announcement. Makes me wonder if this was the plan all along or if Camping is taking cues from his nut case believers?

I used to think that there was a limit to people's stupidity, I really did. Now I know better because while he is an obvious fraud the people following him belong square into the 'desperate believers' category.

Tghe most interresting point, is that if their belief were right and 21st may rapture, 21st octover end of world, that mean they were not judged worthy andwill end up the same place we all did.

NAna-na-ner ! Nurf !

quoe of the day :

Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe

It does, if only to more firmly locate his position on the "scum of the world" graph.
No one hurried to the Capitol Hill to ask the Congress for a fat check to bail out the ministry. Camping is nothing in comparison to CEO Richard Fuld of "raptured" Lehman Brothers and the likes. Camping is a just a silly amusement park attraction. Surely, he will be demonized beyond coherence by the atheists, but to the media and others, he will remain a racoon performing stupid pet tricks on Letterman show.

But I give him credit for not really backing from his prediction. LOL. He basically hinted that the Rapture actually took place according to a bit different script and the whole thing is on until October 21. So if you have some cash left, send it to the ministry to take care of the advertisement, so as many folks would become aware of the upcoming end of the universe as possible. LOL. LOL.

And one more for the road: LOL.

Did Camping take the 10 vanished days when the world (admittedly over 100's of years) changed from the Julian to the Gregorian Calander into account when he calculated May 21?

Or is he so stupid that he thinks the Gregorian existed in BCE 4991 (or whatever year) ha calculated as the year of the grate fludde?

Norm

You give him credit for being flat-out wrong and not admitting it?

:dl:

Well, I suppose that's the True Believer way.
We live in the world shaped by "rational thinkers" where remorse and repentance doesn't pay and Camping isn't that dumb not to learn that. Actually Camping should have pointed out that his prediction was grossly misinterpreted by the media. He should have made clear that he meant "spiritual earthquakes and other assorted disasters of the soul." LOL.

So this end of the world in October is going to be a "Spiritual" End Of The World?

Here's an idea: Cry "Wolf!" once, no big deal. Cry "Wolf!" twice, lose your tax exemption. Cry "Wolf!" three times, and the loss of your tax exemption is retroactive to the time you got it.
