On Iraq, 54 per cent say the war is not worth fighting, while 58 per cent say the US is bogged down in the violence-wracked country.

And 60 per cent are not confident Iraq will have a stable, democratic government in a year.

While 56 per cent disapprove Bush's handling of Iraq, 56 per cent approve of his handling of terrorism.

What this tells me is that Americans are quite happy to fight terrorists who attack them, which is their right, but not with the invasion of Iraq. Eg, Saddam is still free, but the US is tied up in Iraq spending billions like it was water on another issue.

How many polls do we need to go through on this forum before you realize they are meaningless with out the questions that were asked?

Um, you probably mean that other *ssh*le, bin Laden.

Don't worry. It's easy to get confused. Even the President of the United States gets mixed up about this.

Polls are great aren't they. Of course in the most important poll Bush was re-elected as president. You gotta wonder about those fickle Americans.

Perhaps Die bold didn't count any of the votes in this poll? Perhaps there lies the discrepancy?

One of the most meaningful things that's happened to me since I've been the governor — the president — governor — president. Oops. Ex-governor. I went to Bethesda Naval Hospital to give a fellow a Purple Heart, and at the same moment I watched him—get a Purple Heart for action in Iraq — and at that same — right after I gave him the Purple Heart, he was sworn in as a citizen of the United States — a Mexican citizen, now a United States citizen.

As I said, my interest was in the relative evaluation of what he is doing as a president. Polls go up and polls go down, but the judgement of Iraq as a failure compared to the WOT is of interest.

Not necessarily fickle. Bush did a good job of making Kerry look worse than him. That doesn't mean they approve of Bush, they just held their noses and voted.

Isn't that called a mandate?
