It would appear that some people just can't wait to blame the VICTIMS and the 'wussification of the US', are we sure we know why this happened, are we sure that a rush to judgement during the mourning period.

I have my opinions but dancing on the corpses seems premature.

Evil, evil MediaMatters again!

Yeah, I saw that. Why do I get the vision of Boortz pissing his pants had he been at VaTech at that fateful time?

Typical armchair warrior.

I'm not a big fan of mediamatters, but I simply can not abide Neal Boortz. I might add, don't be misled by the fact that Boortz refers to himself as a libertarian. If there is one thing he is not, it's libertarian.

He epitomizes the depravity and bankruptcy of the conservative pundit. What a piece of ****.

I refer to Boortz as the world's most famous Republitarian. He claims to be Libertarian, even talks Libertarian every once in a while, but in the end he still shills for the Republican party line.

In this case I think he's just frustrated that the shooter wasn't a Muslim.

Boortz asked: "How the hell do 25 students allow themselves to be lined up against the wall in a classroom and picked off one by one? How does that happen, when they could have rushed the gunman, the shooter, and most of them would have survived?"

As fun as it is to make fun of a blowhard, he actually raises a point that I would be too "sensitive" to raise.

Media Matters of course, fails to be objective as it classifies this as blaming the victims. I'm not a Neal Boortz fan, but he is being provocative which is his radio job. Nothing to see here.

Actually it seems to me that they succeeded in being objective by classifying it as blaming the victims.

"It seems that standing in terror waiting for your turn to be executed was the right thing to do, and any questions as to why 25 students didn't try to rush and overpower Cho Seung-Hui are just examples of right wing maniacal bias. Surrender -- comply -- adjust. The doctrine of the left. ... Even the suggestion that young adults should actually engage in an act of self defense brings howls of protest."

Seems to me that he manages to smear both leftwings in general and the victims, whatever their political positions, in one fell swoop.

the point is this is not the time to make the point.

I didn't know that people were lined up either, so two questions.

Why now, why not wait? and

Were they lined up?

this blameing of the victim always seemed to be inherent in the claims that if only someone had been armed that it would have been better.

That's a load of BS no better than what Corp is spewing. It is in no sense of the word blaming the victim to think that people will be more disposed to defend themselves if they have better means for it.

I'm telling you, mandatory bullet proof vests and robot sentry's roaming the hallways.

Who in this thread has been angered, let alone howled, by the idea of the students defending themselves?

He asked why they didn't defend themselves. MMFA says he's blaming the victims in a fairly self-fulfilling prophecy. People in this thread echo that sentiment.

Mind you, I don't like Boortz. I'm not a fan of pro-wrestling attitude talking heads. My cynical side wonders if he didn't set it up that way intentionally.

A. Ask a fairly provocative question possibly too soon
B. Claim that asking such questions brings howls of outrage because of the idea behind them

Good obeservation, people like Boortz thrive on negative attention; it's how they earn thier keep.

Most likely true, sigh. Oh well, on with the show!
