Does anyone here NOT think this guy is a racist and/or a fundie christian bigot?

I don't know that he's racist. I don't know that he's even fundie. But he certainly is bigoted against atheists.

In April 2003, Fox News Channel's Bill O'Reilly hosted a fundraiser for Best Friends, a charity benefiting inner-city schoolchildren. As reported in the Washington Post (4/15/03), O'Reilly was trying to fill the time before a singing group connected with the charity, called the Best Men, was set to perform, and quipped: "Does anyone know where the Best Men are? I hope they're not in the parking lot stealing our hubcaps."

Funny quip. Are we not allowed to make jokes anymore?

"Here's a prediction. If President Bush and other traditionalist politicians don't start to confront the forces of secularism in this country, we'll be completely different five years from now. Hillary Clinton might well be president, our courts will be populated with very liberal judges, and the USA you used to know will be a memory. "

Whether he's a fundie is debatable (I think yes).

Whether he's a racist is debatable (I think yes).

What is, as our British friends say, bloody obvious is that he's a hateful, angry, pompous bastard whose pontificating babble serves no purpose other than to lower the intelligence of his viewers and use up precious oxygen.

Some people, particularly those being joked about, don't like racist jokes.

About O'Reilly's being a fundamentalist, I was mistaken.

Der. You do know that fund-raiser was 50's themed and the whole "stealing hubcaps" was 50's related humor? You knew that right? You would never rush to judgement without all the facts right?

I think you're the racist for automatically assuming he was talking about a black person or a person other than a white guy.

That's a pretty good spin. Have any more?

In support of his proposal to militarize U.S. borders, O'Reilly remarked, "We'd save lives because Mexican wetbacks, whatever you want to call them, the coyotes--they're not going to do what they're doing now, all right, so people aren't going to die in the desert."

Those are the facts moron. I don't know what pisses me off more, your idiocy or the fact that your idiocy makes me defend O'reilly.

When/where did he say that? And what is your objection to it?

I would suggest that you are the racist. You are making racist assumptions out of the chute.

The facts are in the link I provided.

Yea, whatever. Racism was acceptable in the 50's as well, so may his racist remark was just 50's related.

I doubt it. However, my question was answered, there are some people that are oblivious to the fact that O'Reilly is a racist.

Does anyone here really care what O'reily thinks or has to say?

Yes. He's popular enough that it's necessary to speak out against his views. I have convinced a few people that thought he was fair to realize that he's not.

He's just as racist as you.
